Our turf comes with an 8-year guarantee, however most fields do not need to be refurbished or replaced until 10-15 years. Each installation has been lab-tested to stand up to over 50 hours per week of continuous use for the length of our 8-year guarantee.
Five inches of earth (including any existing grass) needs to be removed and then filled in with four inches of compacted crushed rock. The turf mat is then laid on this base and in-filled with sand granules for weight and stability. Our organic or thermoplastic infills are then distributed . Sure is! Geo Safe Play is a very strong and durable product. If your pet urinates on the turf, it simply absorbs into the sand and rubber and eventually evaporates. Other messes clean up the same as natural grass, using a plastic scooper. There are also several cleaning products usable that are compatible with Geo Safe Play.
Our turf surfaces are designed to withstand all kinds of environmental forces. The entire system is designed with durability in mind: The turf blades and backing mat are UV- and polyeuthythane-coated to resist wear from sunlight and water damage. The layers of the system are permeable for perfect drainage of excess precipitation. Our organic infill retains moisture and resists heat absorption for minimal maintenance and safer use during hotter seasons.
An occasional brushing is recommended with a plastic garden rake. This will stand the fibres back up and even out the in-fill material. Debris like leaves and twigs can be easily removed with a leaf blower as long as it is done with care to avoid displacement of the infill material. In the warmer, dryer months of the year, monthly watering is recommended for our organic infill.
The drainage is very similar to natural lawn the Geo Safe Play base has many perforated holes allowing for water to naturally drain vertically through the rock base into the underlying earth.
When compared with installing a sprinkler system, top soil, and the price of turf, combined with watering, mowing, weeding, fertilising, Geo Safe Play will pay for itself in a couple of years.
